Celebration of Spring

Cole told us, about a week before Easter, that he thought the Easter Bunny wasn't real.  Not ones to lie to our children, we said "Do you think it's just pretend?" A huge grin formed on his face and he said "Yes, it's fun to pretend. But I know magic isn't real."  So, this Easter was our first official Celebration of Spring; just because we don't have religion or believe in a magical bunny doesn't mean we can't have egg hunts and a nice day to spend with our family.

After the boys played with their new toys (Ninjago Lego ninja set for Cole and a Percy train set for Finian), Uncle Kris, Grandma and Grandpa Francis arrived for some breakfast and egg hunting.

Wesley woke up from his nap to join us, and discovered his basket.  As the only son who's crawled, we find it incredibly endearing!

While we hid eggs, Cole was banished to the "stool" in order to ensure egg hiding secrecy and Uncle Kris kept Wes from going after them.

Who's ready?

Go!

Wesley says, "Lemme at 'em!"

So we gave him one egg to chew on...

Then played a round of cards before they had to leave.

The boys had a short breather to get some rest before Papi, Papa, Grandma Patti, Aunt Jackie, Jeremiah and Grandma Cheryl arrived.

The boys were frothing at the mouth for more egg hunting, so they assumed their spots between all the loot (lucky boys) and waited patiently.

Wesley just loves to be held... and showing off his new Sophie (let's not lose her a 3rd time, kid).

Next post coming too soon... Wesley will be one years old on Friday!
